Herbal Extract Tinctures
BioLife Herbal Tinctures are extracted from organic herbs grown mainly on a farm in Somerset and certified as organic by the Soil Association. The plants are processed within minutes of harvesting and manufactured to internationally accredited quality standards using certified pure organic alcohol. The tinctures are made by cold maceration only - without heat, evaporation or processing aids and are all high strength.
What is a BioLife Herbal Tincture? A preparation, which extracts the active ingredients from an herb through a very simple process. Fine quality organically grown plants, harvested by hand at the peak of their growing cycle, are chopped and macerated (steeped) in a mixture of water and alcohol. Alcohols' preservative properties enable the herbs to be left to macerate for a long period allowing the active ingredients from the plant to be extracted without heating or using other manufacturing processes, so that none of the plants active ingredients are lost or destroyed. After four weeks, the liquid is strained and pressed, then filtered and bottled. This simple process provides a direct way of transferring the bio-active components from the plant to the tincture. The resultant Herbal Tincture is pure, concentrated plant juice or extract.
