Hopi Ear Candling

Laura Weston-Miller RawDip, ITEC, IIHHT
Holistic Therapist

I began my working life as a PA and after 8 years decided it wasn’t for me. I took a career break to help me decide where my real interests lay and how I could incorporate them into a career. I always had an interest in complementary therapies so I decided to explore further. I studied at the Raworth International College of Natural Therapies in Surrey where I trained in various types of massage, reflexology and aromatherapy gaining their Natural Health Practitioner qualification as well individual ITEC and IIHHT certificates. I have since taken Hopi ear candling and Usui Reiki courses and continue to enjoy learning new techniques and therapies.

Hopi Ear Candles - are named after the native American tribe who first introduced this therapy to the West.  They have been used for centuries throughout North America & Asia.
Hopi Ear Candles are used to treat many ailments including sinusitis, headaches & migraines, tinnitus, rhinitis, glue ear in children, excess ear wax, vertigo & hay fever.

During the treatment the candles work in three phases, the first being a ‘chimney’ effect where a gentle suction draws out impurities from the ear.  Next, the gentle heat from the candle increases blood circulation and  the cleansing circulation of lymph.  Lastly it
induces a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses.  The treatment is completed with a soothing scalp and facial massage.
