How can acupuncture help me?
Acupuncture works on correcting imbalances in the body, it can be an effective therapy on its own or in conjunction with other treatment approaches. Some people turn to Acupuncture for help with a specific symptom or condition. Others choose to have treatment to help maintain good health, as a preventative measure, or to improve their general sense of wellbeing. Because traditional acupuncture aims to treat the whole person rather than specific symptoms in isolation, it can be effective for a wide range of conditions. This approach also means that each patient’s treatment plan will be different. However you can always ask your practitioner about other patients’ experiences, to give you an idea of what to expect.

About Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a holistic approach to health and well-being. The skill of the acupuncturist lies in an ability to make an accurate diagnosis from what is often a complex pattern of disharmony. The exact pattern and degree of disharmony is individual to each patient, and acupuncture aims to treat patients with a personalized treatment plan.

How does acupuncture work?
There are approx 500 acupuncture points along 12 main energy meridians. Fine needles are inserted at the selected points around the body to stimulate or suppress the flow of "Chi" – natural body energy. I will select those points most beneficial to you at every treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed differs from person to person. For complex or long-standing conditions, one treatment per week is typical, often for a minimum of 10 treatments. For acute problems fewer visits are required, but at shorter intervals. You will not be asked to commit to long courses of treatment in advance.
