Often hereditary, Psoriasis appears periodically as patches of reddened rash or plaques with overlapping silvery scales caused by cells replicating 1,000 faster than normal individuals. It is commonly triggered by anxiety, injury, viral or bacterial infections, sunburn and drug therapy. There is sometimes an associated arthritis. People with severe immune dysfunction often have psoriasis. It is a chronic and recurrent skin condition which normally affects the scalp, wrists, elbows, knees and ankles.
From a homeopathic viewpoint, disease cannot be eradicated simply by treating the symptoms. Conventional methods merely suppress the condition and do not deal with causation. A homeopathic consultation will need to delve into what is really going on with the person who has psoriasis. Experience has shown that by treating the cause of disease, the condition will improve.
Added to causation, there is often a dietary imbalance. Psoriasis is rare in countries where the diet is low in fat. To replace the nutrition lost as a result of reducing red meat and dairy products in your diet, the use of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids and Lignans are recommended such as:
Lignans, by far the most concentrated source comes from the husk of flaxseed.
Concentrated Fish Oils (Omega 3)
These should be pure and high in EPA/DHA
GLA gamma linolenic acid (Omega 6)
The most concentrated GLA comes from the borage plant I like micellised GLA because it will give enhanced absorption.
Bionutri Taracyn, Milk Thistle or other liver support.
For topical use I suggest Chickweed and Hemp Cream or Organic Aloe Vera Gel to help alleviate dryness and soothe the skin.
